Your life. Your story.
Welcome to Obit Center, a new kind of obituary site, one that puts you in control. After all, an obit is basically your life story, so why should you have to pay to tell it? Or wait and let someone else write it after you’re dead. Obit Center lets you (or your loved ones) tell your story your way, for free. And we encourage you to do it now — so it’s ready when you need it.
We offer both obituaries and memoirs (you might call them “pre-obits”). A memoir is your life story written by you or a friend and published while you are still alive, then updated when your time has come. An obit is published after your life (or a friend or loved one’s life) has ended.
You can write a memoir now and designate a loved one or friend to convert it to an obit when the time is right. You can also write an obit for a friend or loved one, no matter how long ago they died.
We don’t charge for obits. They’re free. Many people spend too much on funerals and memorial services, then throw in another $500 or more for an obituary. A family’s funds should be used for the living, so we offer tips on saving money when there is a death in the family.
Write your obit or memoir now and store it until the time is right. Come back anytime to add updates. Add two photos. Free. Need help? Just ask.
Once your obit is published, it will be available free to anyone in the world at obitcenter.com/obituaries/your-name-your city-your state.
